Erick Patrith Jiménez Vindas

He began as a dancer back in 1996 and developed his professional life as a choreographer and artistic director later on.

He started his dancing career in 1996 in Costa Rica, where he formed part of the companies: Speculum Mundi (1996-98), UNA Heredia Chamber Company (1997-99) and San José National Dance of Costa Rica (1999).

He was already in Spain by 2000 and his first job was as an understudy dancer in Cirque du Soleil. During the following three years he formed part of the Valencia Choreographic Centre and participated in: Photosensitive, esculturas improvisadas (Photosensitive, Improvised Sculptures) by José Antonio Orts; Jumping in the Dark; Dancework, an installation and improvisation by Christie Harry; Dance Works, by Will Swanson; and Tower of Babel.

From 2003 to 2005 he joined the Fernando Hurtado Company. In 2005 he participated in the French Jazz Tour Festival under Will Menter and went on to become a member of the companies: Marina Donderis, Cienfuegos, Enclave and Patas Arriba.

In his role as choreographer he made his debut in 1998 with Solo; in 1999 his turn came with Ecdisis and in 2000 with Kala, which received 1st Prize in the Valencia Choreographic Competition. In 2001 he carried out the choreographies of Estudio #1 and #2 and in 2004 the musical Sesfebu. Between 2003 and 2005 he was also the co-creator of different projects for the company he was a member of, that of Fernando Hurtado, and in 2005 he was appointed choreographer of the San José de Costa Rica National University.

As an artistic director Erick Patrith Jiménez began his career in the Fernando Hurtado Company, between 2004 and 2005; he was the assistant choreographer of Landmark (a project developed by L'Ecole Superieurem du Arts du Cirque (Advanced School of Circus Arts) in collaboration with the Belgian dance school PARTS) en 2006. In the latter year he was also the artistic director of Dance Performance 1+1+1+1=4.
