NEGRO, Daniel Abreu

Daniel Abreu has worked for companies such as Provisional Danza, Matarile Teatro, Centro Dramático Galego, Lanómina Imperial, Larumbe Danza, Gloria García y Cía. and Cía. de Danza Berthelius.

He has created around twenty choreographies, which have been performed in Germany, Portugal and at major Spanish festivals and in various theatres.

He was the assistant director to Ana Vallés and Carmen Werner in Pie izquierdo and the assistant choreographer for the opera Macbeth, staged at the Teatro Real. Highlights of his recent projects include Perro, En la espalda, Bajo cero, Por el camino verde and Ojos de pez, selected to form part of the 2007 Network of Alternative Centres.

Awards
Y eso que no me dejaban ver Dallas: winner of a Creation Fellowship in Montemor-o-Novo (Portugal) at the XVIII Edition of the Madrid Choreography Competition with Mónica García. Winner of the Best Dancer Award at the same event the prize consisted of a grant to attend the American Dance Festival. Winner of the Top Dancer Award at the IV Edition of the Maspalomas Choreography Competition.
